expresses alcohol content as a percentage
of the total liquid volume of the beverage.

gain color from cask aging from 3-12 years
and/or added caramel. Rum is made in various
geographical regions, made in sugar cane
growing areas, with the Caribbean islands
being particularly famous for their rum. |

a sour mash and must be at least 51% rye. |

- A beer made from rice and originating
from Osaka, Japan. |

Sangria
- A beverage originating from Spain. It
is made with red wine, sugar and fruits,
and is garnished with fresh fruits and

from malt whiskey and grain whiskey. Single
malt is made from only malted barley.

Wine - A wine containing a large amount
of carbon dioxide, the source of the beverage's
bubbles, so that pressure inside the bottle
rises to several atmospheres. |

up — the spirit is to be shaken
or stirred with ice, but drunk by itself,
with the ice filtered out. |

| Tabasco
Sauce - A popular hot sauce made from
peppers. |

| Tennesse
Whiskey - A type of whisky that is produced
like Bourbon. It has a smoky sweetness,
and is considered by law as a separate
category of whiskey. |

| Tequila
- A spirit made from the blue agave plant
grown in Mexico. It must be at least 51%
agave, as mandated by law, but it can
be 100% blue agave. If it is not 100%
agave, then it is called a "mixto,"
it is fermented from agave and other sugars.
The different types of Tequila are white/silver,
gold reposado and anejo. |

Twist
- A small piece of fruit peel that is
squeezed over a drink. |

| Vermouth
- A wine flavored with herbs, spices,
barks and flowers. Can be found in different
varieties (red, white, dry, sweet, etc.),
and is produced mainly in France and Italy. |

Vodka
- A liquor that is produced from corn,
wheat and potatoes. It is refined and
filtered, and distilled at 190 proof.
It is colorless with almost no flavor
or odor and is not aged. Vodka is the
national drink of Russia and originated
there from potatoes. The differences between
various vodkas depend on the types of
grains used and the distilling and filtering
processes. |

Whiskey
- Made from the fermented mash of cereal
grains, such as corn, rye, barley or wheat.
Its name is derived from the Scottish
Gaelic word "uisgebeatha" and
Irish word "usquebaugh", both
meaning "water of life." Whiskey
is generally a light or amber color. The
actual color of the whiskey is a result
of adding caramel to the whiskey, the
whiskey being aged in charred oak barrels
or a combination of both. It is generally
bottled and sold at 80 proof. |
