  Irish Cream - A smooth, creamy, light brown liqueur with a whiskey base.
   
  Irish Mist - A liqueur with a whiskey base and flavored with honey and herbs.
   
Irish Whiskey - A whiskey made from malted cereals, barley, water and yeast. It is passed through the still 3 times (therefore has a high alcohol level), blended and aged minimum 5 years in used Sherry casks. It is produced only in Ireland.

  Kosher Salt - Coarse salt used for frosting glass rims, as in Margarita.
   
  Kirsch - A white brandy distilled from cherries and usually aged in a paraffin lined cask to prevent it from taking on the color of the wood. It is also another name for cherry schnapps.
   
Kummel - A clear liqueur distilled from grain alcohol and flavored with caraway and anise seeds.

  Lambrusco - A red and sparkling wine made from the lambrusco grape and produced in Italy.
   
  Lemon Juice - Juice from a lemon.
   
  Lemon Lime Mix - A mix made of sugar, water, lemon and lime puree.
   
  Lemon Syrup - A mixture of sugar dissolved in water and flavored with lemon.
   
  Lillet - A light, medium dry French aperitif (red or white) made with herbs, spices and fruits fortified with French Brandy, and a Bordeaux wine base.
   
  Lime Mix - A mix made of sugar, water, and lime puree.
 
M Madeira - A fortified wine produced in the island of Maderia, a possession of Portugal. The wine is aged between 4 to 6 months in casks in a very warm chamber.
   
  Magnum - A large, double-sized wine bottle; 1.5 Liter
   
  Maraschino - A liquor made from cherries from Dalmatia, Yugoslavia.
   
  Maraschino Cherries - Cherries used as a garnish and preserved in or flavored with Maraschino liqueur (can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic).
   
  Maraschino Cherry Juice - Juice flavored with Maraschino cherries; used for color and flavoring in many cocktails.
   
  Margarita Mix - A mix than can be made of water, sugar, passion fruit sweet and sour mix, lime juice.
   
  Mint - Any plant with the aromatic family 'mentha'. The leaves are used to for seasoning and flavoring.
   
  Mist - Any liquor served on crushed ice in a rocks glass.
   
  Mixing Glass - A glass for stirring ingredients together.
   
  Modifier - An ingredient in cocktails.
   
  Molasses - A thick, brown, uncrystallized bitter syrup obtained from sugar during refining.
   
  Muddler - Wooden rod used to mash sugar or other ingredients in the bottom of a glass.
   
  Muscat Wine - A wine, made with the Muscat grape, a small type of grape that can be very sweet.
   
  Muscatel - A sweet dessert wine.
 
N Neat - A term meaning that the liquor is poured straight from the bottle into the glass. There is no ice or water used, and it is poured at room temperature.
