Gin
- Created in the mid 1600's, gin, the
English shortening of Genever, a Dutch
word for juniper, is a neutral spirit
that is made from wheat or rye. It gets
its flavor from the highly aromatic blue-green
berry of the juniper, an evergreen bush
that is commercially grown in northern
Italy, Croatia, the United States and
Canada. It also gets additional flavoring
from anise, angelica root, cinnamon, lemon,
orange peel, coriander, and cassia bark. |

being aged in charred oak barrels. |
